Discover a different side of Yelapa and venture beyond the traditional tourist routes. While most visitors stay around the village or visit the main waterfall near town, this experience takes us deep into the jungle toward Cathedral Waterfall, a hidden waterfall surrounded by tropical vegetation, natural trails, and river sounds. Our adventure begins in downtown Puerto Vallarta, where we’ll take public transportation to Boca de Tomatlán. From there, we’ll board a public water taxi to Yelapa. Once we arrive, we’ll begin an approximately 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) round-trip hike through the village and into the jungle. Along the way, we’ll experience jungle paths, rivers, and a more authentic and adventurous side of the region. To reach the waterfall, we’ll cross the river twice before having time to relax, swim, and enjoy the natural surroundings. This experience is perfect for couples, families, and groups of friends looking to explore beyond the usual tourist spots and connect with nature in a more adventurous way. A minimum of 2 participants is required for this activity.
