Day of the Dead Immersion
Day of the Dead Immersion
Service Description
Have you ever felt the magic of Day of the Dead up close? The scent of copal incense, the vibrant orange of marigolds, and the warmth of remembering those who have passed. This year, we’ve teamed up with Planeta Cacao to invite you to experience this tradition from the inside—not as a tourist, but as part of the family. When you arrive, the first thing we’ll do is build a traditional altar together. Bring a photo of a loved one or a pet so their memory can join us. While we talk about why cacao was so sacred to our ancestors, we’ll share warm tamales and champurrado, followed by a tasting of regional chocolates and pan de muerto. To help you get fully into the spirit, we’ll gift you a flower headband or traditional hat (and if you’d like the full Catrina makeup, just let us know in advance to book it). We’ll end the day with a respectful walk through the local cemeteries—which are lit up and full of life during these dates—so you can truly feel how Mexico celebrates memory. Don't worry about getting there; we’ll pick you up at any of our meeting points across the bay or Puerto Vallarta. We’re running from October 28th to November 4th, with departures at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Transport, food, and tastings are all covered. Just come ready to experience it.
