Designed for active couples, families, and friends, our journey embraces authentic local travel. We start by taking the public city bus from downtown Puerto Vallarta to Boca de Tomatlán, experiencing the region just like the locals do. From there, we board a public water taxi to Yelapa. Once we arrive, we begin a rewarding 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) round-trip hike through the village and into the deep jungle terrain. To reach the waterfall, we will cross the riverbed twice before enjoying dedicated time to relax, swim, and take in the natural surroundings. Your Journey Includes: - Round-trip public city bus (Puerto Vallarta - Boca de Tomatlán). - Round-trip public water taxi (Boca de Tomatlán - Yelapa). - Certified professional guide managing the trail and logistics. - Guided interpretive hike to the secluded Cathedral Waterfall. - A light trail snack. - Group safety management during river crossings. Preparation Notes: - Transportation: This tour uses local public transit (bus and boat) to offer a genuine, unvarnished regional experience. - Footwear: Hiking or running shoes are strictly required. Please also pack sandals or water shoes for the two river crossings. - Clothing & Food: Wear lightweight clothing, bring plenty of hydration, and please eat a hearty breakfast before the tour.
